Beta Version of Overwatch 2 to Be Released in April
Blizzard have announced that the beta version of Overwatch 2 will become available in late April. To allow the players to try the game sooner, the developers have decided to separate the PvP and PvE aspects. At first, the beta will feature only PvP elements of the game, namely the change to the 5v5 format, new hero Sojourn, new maps, new Push game mode, significant hero updates and reworks, and new gameplay features such as a new ping system.
The developers want to start the testing already this week, but initially it will include only Blizzard employees and Overwatch League players, who are preparing for the next season. This stage will be under an NDA. The first closed beta will start in late April – to apply for it, go the game’s official webpage. Later in the year there will be additional open tastings. With each testing period, the developers will communicate with players about their progress and plans.
Earlier we reported that the next season of Overwatch League is scheduled to start on May 5th and it will be played on an early build of Overwatch 2. While the league will still be divided into two regions – East and West – the company plans to host two live events this year.
