<p><b>Hi-Rez Studios</b> has revealed the rosters of the teams that will participate in the upcoming season of <b>SMITE Pro League</b>. In the next season we will see ten teams competing in offline format for a chance to qualify for the <b>Smite World Championship 2020</b>. </p>

<p>The 2019 season will not be separated into Spring, Summer and Fall splits. Instead, we will see a preseason and two phases, with all matches being played on LAN at the Skillshot Media studio in Atlanta. All results will be season-long, counting towards qualifying for the world championship. The preseason will begin in February and will include five weeks of play. The first phase is scheduled for March – June, while the second phase will take place on August – October. The company will host <b>All-Star Invitational</b> between the two phases, the season will conclude with <b>SMITE World Championship 2020</b>.</p>
<p>The previous <b>SMITE World Championship</b> took place last November. In the grand finals <b>Splyce</b> <a href="/en/news/splyce-are-the-winners-of-smite-world-championship-2019">defeated</a> <b>Team RivaL</b> with the 3-2 score.</p>

<h1>Splyce Are the Winners of SMITE World Championship 2019</h1>
<p>The main event of the competitive 2018 <b>SMITE</b> season has concluded. In the grand finals of <b>SMITE World Championship 2019</b> the North American team <b>Splyce</b> defeated the European roster of <b>Team RivaL</b>.</p>
<p>The event featured a single-elimination bracket for eight participating teams, with quarterfinals being best-of-three and semifinals with grand finals being best-of-five. On their way to the grand finals <b>Splyce</b> defeated <b>Obey</b> (2:0) and <b>Dignitas</b> (3:0), while <b>Team RivaL</b> outplayed <b>NRG Esports</b> (2:0) and <b>Trifecta</b> (3:0). The final series concluded with the 3-2 score in favour of <b>Splyce</b>.</p>
<p>The event was held by <b>Hi-Rez Studios</b> on November 16th – 18th at Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, United States.</p>

<p><strong>Smite </strong>has received yet another major update, in which the developers from <strong>Hi-Rez Studio </strong>introduced a new Greek god - <strong>Hera.</strong> Currently the update is available on the Test Server only. </p>

Argus has a hit chain that starts with a normal basic attack, into a ground circle AoE slowing enemies by 20% for 1s, into a line attack.</p>

<h1>SMITE Update 5.8: New Slavic God Chernobog</h1>
<p><strong>Hi-Rez Studios</strong> rolled out a new major update for their MOBA <strong>Smite</strong>. In addition to items and heroes balance changes, Update 5.8 introduced a new hero Slavic god – <strong>Chernobog, Lord of Darkness</strong>. <h1>eUnited Emerged Victorious at Smite World Championship 2018</h1>
<p><b>Smite World Championship 2018</b>, which was held on January 4-7 at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta during <b>Hi-Rex Expo 2018</b>, has concluded. The main event of the season featured 10 teams competing for a massive $1,000,000 prize pool.</p>
<p>The best teams from around the world participated in the tournament, including 2 teams from each Europe, North America and NA/EN Wildcard, as well as 1 team from Oceania, Southeast Asia, Brazil, and Latin America. Thus, the tournament line-up looked as follows:</p>

<p>The tournament was split up into two phases: Qualifying Stage and Knockout Stage. In the first stage eight teams competed in a single-elimination bracket with best-of-one and best-of-three series, with top six teams advancing to the next phase. The Knockout Stage featured two invited and six qualified teams, with the quarterfinals being best-of-three and semifinals and grand finals being best-of-five.</p>
<p><b>eUnited</b> and <b>Team RivaL</b>, as the winners of the North American and the European qualifiers respectively, started their competition from the Knockout Stage. On their way to the grand finals <b>RivaL</b> outplayed <b>Nocturns Gaming</b> (2-0) and <b>NRG</b> (3-2), while <b>eUnited</b> defeated <b>BIDs</b> (2-0) and <b>Obey Alliance</b> (3-0). In the Grand Finals the Europeans managed to win only the second map, losing all other three and ending the series with the 1-3 score.</p>

<p>Another major update was released for <b>Smite</b> – Patch 4.25 contains a new Greek god <b>Cerberus</b>, new skins, as well as balance changes to some of the gods.</p>

Each projectile that hits the same target deals 20% less damage, but hitting an Enemy with all 4 Stuns them.</p>

<h1>SMITE Patch 4.21: New Romanian God and Balance Changes</h1>

<p><b>Smite</b> received another update – Patch 4.21, in which the developers added a new Romanian goddess <b>Discordia</b>, new skins, as well as baІlance changes to items and gods.</p>

<p><strong>UNRULY MAGIC</strong></p>
<p>Discordia sends an orb of unruly magic to a location that damages any enemies it hits along the way. At that location it will break down into 6 minor projectiles that fire out in all directions, damaging any enemies hit and bouncing off of walls.</p>

<p><strong>STRIFE</strong></p>
<p>Discordia creates an area of Strife that damages all enemies hit. If 2 or more enemy gods are hit at the same time they will be afflicted by Madness for 1s, forcing them to attack each other for additional damage. The same is true for minions. If only a single target of one type is hit then it becomes Rooted for a short duration instead.</p>

<p><strong>ERRATIC BEHAVIOR</strong></p>
<p>Discordia leaps a short distance and then creates an area of confusion where she lands. While inside the area she becomes stealthed, gains bonus movement speed, and Unruly Magic’s and Strife’s cooldowns are reduced by an additional amount of time every .5s she remains in the area. Attacking from the area will briefly reveal her.</p>

<p><strong>GOLDEN APPLE OF DISCORD</strong></p>
<p>Discordia throws her Golden Apple of Discord that damages and passes through minions and bounces off of walls. If the Apple hits an enemy god it will damage them and force them to hold the Apple. Gods holding the apple will become intolerable, causing them to be Crippled, Intoxicated while they constantly boast. At the end of the duration, the Apple will detonate, dealing damage and spreading the effects to nearby gods.</p>
