FunPlus Phoenix Close their CS:GO Division
The Chinese organization FunPlus Phoenix has announced that they decided to close their CS:GO division. All members of the team have been listed for transfer. The organization explained their decision by limitations and difficulties of remote management.
FPX Esports opened their CS:GO division is 2020 with intent to sign Heroic roster and compete in the FLASHPOINT league. Later, however, the deal fell through due to Patrick "es3tag" Hansen’s transition to Astralis.
This January FPX acquired GODSENT’s roster, consisting of Jesse "zehN" Linjala, Martin "STYKO" Styk, Pavle "maden" Bošković, Asger "farlig" Jensen and their coach Jonatan "Devilwalk" Lundberg. First the team competed with Chris "chrisJ" de Jong on loan from mousesports, who a few months later was replaced by Luka "emi" Vuković.
The team has been showing poor results as they placed 9-12th at EPL 13 and 9th in FLASHPOINT 3. Recently they failed to qualify for PGL Major Stockholm 2021, as they were ranked #14 in the European Regional Major Rankings.
