S4 Becomes the Third Player to Leave Alliance

Alliance have announced the departure of yet another player from their Dota 2 roster. This time the team parts ways with their offlaner Gustav "s4" Magnusson. Thus, currently their roster features only two members – Nikolay "Nikobaby" Nikolov and Simon "Handsken" Haag.

This is the third time s4 leaves Alliance – while his latest tenure with the Swedish organization started a year and a half ago, earlier he also represented the team in 2013 – 2014 and in 2015 – 2016. Overall, he played over 1200 games for them. The 29-years-old player has not commented on the news yet, so it remains unknown where he will continue his career.

This year Alliance competed in the Upper Division of the European Dota Pro Circuit, managing to place 2nd and 1st in the seasons. Despite their humble results at the majors – they finished 13th at ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021 and 9 – 12th at WePlay AniMajor ¬– the team acquired enough DPC points to be invited for The International 10.

There the team competed in Group B, placing 8th in the group with a 1-2-5 score – the only team they managed to defeat was Thunder Predator, the weakest one in the group. They also tied with Aster and Evil Geniuses, and lost to IG, OG, T1 and VP. In the very first playoffs series they lost to beastcoast, finishing 9 – 12th at the event and claiming $800,400 in prize money.

Earlier Alliance also announced the departure of their midlaner Linus "Limmp" Blomdin and full-support Artsiom "fng" Barshak. Their replacements remain unknown.
