TI Champions Spirit Eliminated from ESL One Stockholm without a Single Playoffs Win

Team Spirit, who are the current world champions as the winners of the previous The International, have been eliminated from ESL One Stockholm Major 2022 early. The team has been upset by beastcoast in the first round of the lower bracket, losing with a 0-2 score.

Spirit, who qualified to the major from the second place of the Eastern European Dota Pro Circuit, started the competition in Group B. There they finished with a 3-1-2 score – the team defeated Fnatic, Thunder Awaken, as well as got a technical victory against the disqualified Mind Games, but tied with TSM and lost to Liquid and Gaimin Gladiators.

Later in the tiebreakers they outplayed Liquid, as well as lost to TSM and TA, thus placing 4th in the group, barely making it to the upper bracket.
