Vitality Emerge Victorious at IEM XVI – Winter
Team Vitality have become the champions of Intel Extreme Masters Season XVI – Winter, the first event of the fourth season of Intel Grand Slam. In the grand finals they outplayed Ninjas Pyjamas with a 3-0 score, thus claiming $100,000 in prize money and 1000 ESL Pro Tour points. Meanwhile NiP received $42,000 and 750 points.
The runner-ups of Group A, Team Vitality started the playoffs from the quarterfinals. There, they managed to defeat Gambit Esports with a 2-1 score, while later they also outplayed Virtus.pro (2-0) in the semifinals. In the grand finals the French team defeated their opponents at Inferno (16:10), Dust II (16:10), and Nuke (16:13).

IEM Winter 2021 was played on December 2nd – 12th in a studio format in Stockholm, Sweden. The event featured a $250,000 prize pool and a handful of Pro Tour points up for grabs. The results are following:
